You can never relive your childhood and that’s why these few precious moments shared are sculpted deeply into these children’s hearts; Moments that share soul and fun with a unique children’s home. Let’s bring music, excitement and the world of imagination to the spirited, beautiful children of The Nest.

Earlier in the year Wendy met a wonderful woman called Bee Gilbert through a mutual friend who was convinced Bee and her would be soul mates and she was perfectly right.
Bee is an amazing woman who had unfortunately lost her son Anno to a car accident five years ago. He was an incredible young man, a talented poet and musician who was on his way to fame when he died.

They met when Bee was in Africa working on an arts programme in the slums of Nairobi and hatched a plan to bring a scaled down version of the programme to The Nest.

Three afternoons or mornings a week Bee’s team of artists, musicians, storytellers and dancers come to Limuru and bring inspiration, education and fun into these children lives.

The plan is to make this a sustainable project to enable the resident teachers to carry on this wonderful work with Bee and her team visiting Kenya twice a year.

Bee is continuously, tirelessly fundraising in London to sustain this project.

Bee’s charity is called Anno’s Africa and you can read all about its beautiful shared magical moments at www.anno.co.uk

Bee’s husband, Andrew is making a documentary of the whole programme which may be aired on television in the near future.

The programme was a great success. Will’s Africa Trust is going to fund a lovely young lady called Rose to run the programme after Bee and the team have set it up again.

Another exiting satellite programme that has been introduced to the Nest. It was conceptualized by three talented, wonderful young men (Andrew, Jack and Ian). They raised adequate funds to build two state of the art playgrounds at the Nest and additionally buy a minibus that will be donated to The Nest after the playgrounds have been completed!! Our heartfelt thanks and admiration go out to all of them!! Will’s Africa Trust donated £1000 towards the minibus as well as plenty of helpful advice and contacts.
